Ingredients
  

  • 3 Large Onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Besan (Gram Flour)
  • 2 tbsp Rice Flour
  • 2 Green Chilies Finely Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • water as required
  • oil for frying

Method
 

  1. Thinly slice the onions and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add besan, rice flour, green chilies, ajwain, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  3. Mix everything well and add a little water to make a thick batter.
  4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Drop small portions of the batter into the hot oil.
  6. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the pakoras and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

Notes

For extra crispy onion pakoras, add rice flour and avoid adding too much water to the batter. Fry on medium heat for the best texture.
